Mateusz Surma 2p

Mateusz Surma 2p, born 1995 Mateusz started playing Go thanks to his father at the age of six and half and

played his first official tournament in 2002.In 2009, when he reached the strength of 4 dan, he started training

Go in South Korea at King’s Baduk Dojang, Yang Jae-Ho Baduk Dojang and Choong-Am Baduk Dojang

schools. In total, he spent 2 years and 5 months studying Go in Korea in 2009-2013. In 2015, he became

a professional Go player. In 2015/16 (8 months in total) he trained Go in China at Ge Yuhong Weiqi

Daochang School.

He runs several Go-related businesses, is the founder and CEO of polgote.com, has written and published 9 Go books and is dedicated to promoting Go worldwide.

Antti Törmänen 1p

Before becoming a professional player at the Japan Go Association in 2016, Antti was a common face at European

tournaments. He won the London Open Go Congress in 2010 and the Hans Pietsch memorial in 2013 among others,

 and was the runner-up in the Open European Championship in 2013.

 

Antti now lives in Japan and participates in Japanese professional tournaments, but recently he has started focusing

 on teaching and spreading the game in the West. He hosts the online go school Nordic Go Dojo, and has published

 three go books up to date, with more on the way.
